MY USER EXPERIENCE:I have used each of these serums from Art Naturals in the past, and they are all excellent. This 3 bottle combination gift pack is an awesome bargain. This being almost October, it deserves mention as a very nice Christmas gift for the ladies. (But it will be useful for men too. After all, macho guys like us also need to take care of our skin to look good for the ladies haha!) The only downside of this gift pack is that the bottles are not pumps and it is kinda a bother to twist open and close each bottle and you end up smearing a little of the serum on the tops. But that's minor.HOW TO USE THESE SERUMS:So, if this is supposed to be a complete day time and night time skin care serum set, why 3 bottles and not 2? Well, it actually works, and it goes like this: the retinol serum is, naturally, for use at night before bedtime. It exfoliates by sloughing off the top layer of the skin and encouraging the dermal layer to regenerate new skin. The vitamin C serum, amongst its many significant benefits, brightens your skin and protects your skin from the elements (because it is a strong antioxidant), and is good for use during daytime. The hyaluronic acid serum is a switch hitter. It plumps up your skin to diminish appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. You can use it in combination with the retinol serum or the vitamin c serum, or all by itself. All that being said, the list of ingredients tells a slightly different story. First, both the retinol serum and the vitamin c serum already contains hyaluronic acid. (In reality the ingredient in all three serum is called Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide, which is a plant extract that works "like" real hyaluronic acid by attracting moisture to stay on the surface of your skin. It is also good for acne because it is slightly anti-inflammatory.) So, logically you could just use the retinol serum at night and the vitamin c serum during the day. Why bother with the bottle of hyaluronic acid serum? The answer is, the hyaluronic acid serum also contains a high proportion of witch hazel - actually there is more witch hazel than hyaluronic acid in the bottle). The witch hazel is an astringent. It temporarily tightens your skin and diminishes your pore size, perfect for use right before you put on your makeup! Truth be told, as a man I don't need to worry about my pore size, so I don't use the hyaluronic acid serum as much. But it should be a go-to serum for you ladies. Ironically, the hyaluronic acid serum also has a small amount of vitamin c.So there you have it. The retinol serum is for night time skin care and the vitamin c serum is for day time. They both deliver lots of benefits in the short term as well as long term, and they can be used alone because they already have hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid serum has the immediate effect of tightening your skin and shrinking your pores, and can be used anytime alone or in combination with either of the other two serum. Two things to keep in mind:1) don't forget that these are serums and not cream. While they have some moisturizing effect, they have very little emollients (for example, good quality lipids). So you should consider applying a moisturizer after the serum, especially at night.2) it is always a good idea to apply sunscreen during the day, and it is doubly important if you use retinol at night because your new layer of skin is exposed during the day.I am not an easy customer to please. I wanted to wait a good week or two before I posted my opinion but I saw results in just a couple of days!! And not only did I get results, but I was getting compliments on my skin after using these products for 3 days!! I don't like having to wear foundation but the last 15 years I have been forced to as I have an uneven skin tone and pimples. This combo has helped even out my skin and giving it a a great natural glow! I have not been wearing make up to work anymore and I continuously get compliments about my "glow!" I already plan on buying this for my sister for Xmas! I recommend following the directions of this product and allowing each serum to soak in for a good 5 minutes before applying the next one!
